Anti-friction bronze rod guide bushings: what they are for
Anti-friction bronze rod guide bushings ensure the rod slides correctly and without play inside the hydraulic cylinder, reducing friction and wear over time. They are a standard construction feature on our COL and COP series cylinders, and their condition should be checked during preventive maintenance.
Main functions
- Rod guidance: keep the rod correctly aligned during movement, preventing mechanical play and uneven wear
- Friction reduction: anti-friction bronze reduces friction compared to direct metal-to-metal contact, extending the cylinder's service life
- Seal protection: a well-guided rod reduces stress on nearby seals, preventing premature leaks
Anti-friction bronze rod guide bushings are fitted on all COL (70 bar) and COP (210 bar) series cylinders produced by Nuova Emmebi Cilindri, together with hardened and tempered alloy steel rods, hard chrome plated.
