Custom hydraulic cylinders: bore sizes, mounting options and construction details to know
A custom hydraulic cylinder is configured starting from a few key variables: bore size, mounting type, travel speed and construction details such as cushioning and air bleeds. Knowing them helps define the correct specifications for your application, on the COL (70 bar) and COP (210 bar) series.
Available bore sizes
- COL series (70 bar): 8 available bore sizes
- COP series (210 bar): 9 available bore sizes
- Bore size, together with operating pressure, determines the force the cylinder can generate
Mounting options
Both series offer 15 mounting options, to be chosen according to the installation type and the mechanical constraints of the system the cylinder will be mounted on.
Cushioning and air bleeds
- Cushioning available front and rear, to reduce mechanical impact at the end of stroke
- Air bleeds on head and cap, to make commissioning and maintenance easier
Travel speed
Standard speed is 30 m/min; higher speeds are available on request, together with other construction options.
